Nov Is National Diabetes Month

Nov is National Diabetes Month. I would urge everyone & their families to please, please get tested for it whether you have it or not. It is not just a disease for young kids or old folks, nor is it just a disease where you can't eat sweets. It can hit anybody at any age & is a killer. And you don't get it from eating sweets. Many folks who eat sweets never get it & many folks who don't care for sweets get it. If left untreated you could get complications & die. Because my hubby had diabetes for yrs & didn't know it, he became legally blind. Because I had diabetes for yrs & didn't know it, I now have neuropathy in my feet. My dad has it. So does a nephew. And a cousins hubby. My late Uncle & late stepuncle had it. SO does some of Mikes cousins. HIs late grandpa & a late Aunt had it.

Even the famous have had it. The late country singers Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hoyt Axton & Johnny Check had it. Halle Berry the actress, Jerry (Beaver) Mathers the actor, Mark Collie the country singer and Elliot Yamin the boy who won the Idol competition (I never watch that show but heard about it) have it.

So please take this sseriously & get tested because we care...
