Psalms 43: 5

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

My First Train Ride

Yesterday I did something I had never done before in my life. Ride a train! My folks always took a car unless it was somewhere only accessable by plane like the trips to Europe & Hawaii. Mikes been to visit relatives in KY etc by train many times when the trains used to go there. Some yrs ago I saw where a local train preservation society in Richmond was having train excusion trips on a train from Dillwyn, VA to raise money for their society. I had suggested to Mike that we goi but we never got around to it. I saw in the paper a while back where they had the train trips again this month & suggested to Mike we oughta go. So we got tix & went yesterday.

We had a great time on the train. Got lunch at a local diner of hot dogs & chesse fries plus corn dogs on the train. While riding the train we were deciding where to eat dinner around there, Teresas or Pinos Pizza that we'd seen in Dillwyn or Cumberland Restaurant in Cumberland which we'd seen on the way up. While a lady who was the hostess on the train was telling us that all of them were good, a man suggested we try Teress. So we did & it was good.

We decided to stop by Cumberland Restaurant on the way back & pick up a snack to eat Sun nite which we did. While there we we heard bluegrass music playing. There across the street was a guitar store which was having a bluegrass group play outside free. So we had to stop & watch them for awhile. They were good. They sang songs about Jesus & coal mining etc like they sang something about I was from the mountains & my daddy shoveled coal & Grandpa died & now we got Jesus. & One about we don't have to worry no more we're going up to heaven one day & Woody Guthries It Takes A Worried Man To Sing A Worried Song. I asked the lady in the guitar store what their name was & she said they were Cumberland Grass. I would've loved to have heard the rest of their show but I needed to get to a more familiar area before it got dark so I wouldn't have to worry about deer coming out on rural roads. Where went was so rural there was no cell phone service there lol. But we had a great day. Enjoy your weekend kids. :)
